该机器人还具有言语合成和声音识别功能——能够理解真实的命令（用日语）。RIDC-01能够通过无线网络通信来接收消息和把电子邮件阅读给房间的主人。为了最大限度地提供娱乐，RIDC-01的头部装有一个放映机，可以用来放映DVD电影或显示其它信息。

RIDC-01定价一千万日元（85，000美元），但直到2006年8月还没有上市销售。

Tmsuk Co. developed RIDC-01 and revealed it to the world at the IREX robot show in Tokyo Japan in 2005. RIDC-01 is designed to be a multipurpose robot maid capable of vacuuming, dusting, communicating news and messages, and providing entertainment.

RIDC-01 can autonomously clean a home at regular preprogrammed intervals using path-finding algorithms to navigate around the house. It comes equipped with an internal vacuum cleaner that allows it to vacuum as it travels at speeds up to 1.86mph (3km/h) and has dust clothes attached to its hands that allow it to dust as it makes its rounds.

The robot is capable of speech-synthesis and voice recognition - and understands a verity of commands (in Japanese). By communicating through a wireless network RIDC-01 can receive news and read emails to its housemates. For maximum entertainment purposes RIDC-01 also comes equipped with a projector in its head that can be used to show DVD movies or display other information.

RIDC-01 is priced at 10 million Yen (US$85,000) but as of August 2006 is not yet commercially available.
